Bring a little of the outside in
A considered approach to adding greenery, texture, and natural light to your space.

A considered approach to adding greenery, texture, and natural light to your space.
Look at the light first
Spend a day noticing how light moves through your space before choosing a plant. The bright patch beside a window can be very different from the shelf on the other side of the room.
Use the care guidance for the particular plant you choose. Ask a local nursery about your window direction and the conditions in your room rather than assuming every indoor plant needs the same care.
Start with one corner
A single plant in a place you see often can be enough. Leave room around it, choose a pot you enjoy looking at, and make sure the container and drainage suit the plant.
Natural touches can also be simple objects: a wooden bowl, a landscape print, or a woven basket that has a practical job. You do not have to fill every surface.
Build a routine around observation
Notice how your plant responds over time. Follow its specific watering advice and check the growing conditions when something changes.
Choose plants with your household in mind, including children and pets. Check suitability with a reliable plant-care source before bringing a new variety home.
